Local History
We meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month (except December when it will be on 11th), at 2pm to 4pm
The meetings are at the Millennium Centre on Baddow Road, Great Baddow, for talks and presentations on local subjects but during the summer months, we visit different places of interest, villages, monuments or museums, again with a local history link.
With 35 members in the group, the meetings and visits are always well attended.
In 2024, the programme will include the following subjects:
TALKS
- The sometimes-secret history of Chelmsford Prison
- The building of Hanningfield Reservoir
- Essex Local History tales
- Galleywood Races
- The 5 not so famous pioneers of Chelmsford
