We are a friendly and welcoming group who meet once a month, mainly in member's houses but occasionally using Zoom, to discuss a subject which one of us has researched. Often we know very little about the subject before doing the research.
Subjects we have recently covered are heat pumps and solar panels, pros and cons, costs and how they work. We have discussed WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger etc., Rare Earth Elements (REE) and ChatGPT.
We have had outings in member’s gardens where we have tried out 6-seater tricycles and a mobility scooter. Another time we looked at electric cars owned by members and friends. More recently we have looked at scams and what to do if affected by one.
Another meeting was when we (unusually) had a guest speaker along to demonstrate his various 3D printers. That was great fun as we saw a small item being built and could try out the pieces that the guest speaker had brought along.
Future topics will include Home security devices, Fake news and an update on batteries - where are they going?
As you can see, we look at a variety of subjects.
