A Life Well Lived is a new series of podcasts, which features extraordinary stories and experiences of third agers (all the interviewees are over 70), some of which are being told for the first time. Curated by national journalist Constance Knox, the first series will comprise five episodes. It has the support of the U3A, and three of the interviewees are current U3A members.
The series will feature a 1952 Olympic medal winner, a couple who both served time on Death Row following wrongful convictions, a survivor of the Nazi regime, and other fascinating tales that deserve to be widely heard.
The first podcast has just become available, and you can hear it simply by clicking on the link and selecting Podcast from the menu.
News from our local Winchcombe Museum
One of our members, Michael Dufton, is a trustee of our museum in Winchcombe. There is an urgent appeal going on for autumn 2019. More from Michael:
"We have raised £120K towards the cost of Phase 1, but we need to raise more before the 9th September, in order to start work and spend the EU-related grant before 31 December 2019.
SO as promised, here is the appeal letter, which spells out what we are trying to do and how to donate. IN fact the document has live links, to enable anyone to for example donate via the Virgin link, or to visit the website www.winchcombemuseum.org.uk which tells you more."
