UKULELE - IT’S NOT ALL GEORGE FORMBY!
This much maligned little instrument is growing in popularity and is certainly making its mark in Whitworth.
Uke3A started in September 2022. 18 months on, Uke3A has outgrown its original venue (my kitchen) and now meets on a Monday evening at Riddiough Court. Many of the original members were complete beginners but are now confidently passing on their amazing skills to new players as they join up.
Do we perform? Of course - at any opportunity! From our tentative debut performance at the U3A Christmas Meet, Uke3A has gone on to perform at local care homes, hospices, societies and shared the stage with Rochdale Festival Choir. The highlight of the year was being invited to perform at the 2023 Summer Strum Ukulele Festival in Rainford.
So 
long as it has a good tune, Uke3A gives it a go. The main motivation is having fun - & Uke3A laugh ALOT! - while developing some skills along the way. Other instruments are also welcomed – just get in touch to discuss how we can best accommodate you.
