Wild Patch Group
Group Leader :- Mark G.
When :- Second Thursday of the Month starting at 10:30 a.m.
Where :- The Coach House Cafe in Barnes Park
We have been given the use of a raised bed, shed and greenhouse at a community allotment at the Red Machine allotments, just off Ettrick Grove
The allotment has a pond at the far end and this is overgrown and the ground always wet due to a lack of drainage. So any member interested in conservation is welcome to join the group to help with controlling this habitat as a wildlife area.
There are several raised beds on the allotment being used by different community groups we share the locked shed and greenhouse with them so keys are stored in a lock box. The bed we have been allocated has been partially cleared and further work is needed to get it ready for spring planting.
The group will meet on the second Thursday of the month 10.30 – 12noon at THE COACH HOUSE Café in the nearby Barnes Park on Barnes Park Road over the winter to plan our conservation work and spring planting plans, also to chat about gardening and plants for fun.
Wellies will be needed for site visits due to the poor drainage!
Access to the allotment will initially be via founder group members Mark, Mike & Ann and Christa.
