History of British Pop Music 1955 - 1969
This group has been going for over a year, during which we have included many different genres of music, ranging from early skiffle to the Beatles to the crooners of the time.
The latest theme has been music from the cinema, with some interesting facts and performances from well known artists including Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, the Mammas and the Papas, Matt Monroe and of course Cliff Richard.
I will be starting a new theme featuring some favourite artists, giving a synopsis of their lives and playing their music. As usual, in addition, I will be playing music from the 1950's, 60s ,70s and the 80s with some unexpected surprises!
All are welcome and I look forward to seeing you on the 4th Tuesday of the month at Glebe Hall. 9.30 am for a 9.45am start and finishing at 11am.
Please note, there will be no group meeting on Tuesday 28th May as I am on holiday.
We reconvene on Tuesday 25th June, 9.45 am to 11am at Glebe Hall.
I will be focussing on 'The Travelling Wilburys' consisting of (Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Geoff Lynn), together with other musical surprises)
