Tai Chi
Group Leader – Jan Keenan
Tai Chi is a non-competitive martial art known for its health benefits. It combines gentle physical exercise and stretching with mindfulness.
According to the NHS website “research suggests that Tai Chi can help to reduce stress levels, improve balance, increase muscle strength in your legs, and improve general mobility and flexibility”
The group meets each Monday, 10:30am at the Bridewell, Magherafelt. Group members contribute £20 towards the cost of room hire, which is topped up as and when required.
It’s a friendly and informal group, and a very important part of the morning is coffee afterwards!
All welcome, but if you have any physical conditions that make you cautious about taking up Tai Chi, please ask for advice from your GP.
