CITIZENS ADVICE
We had a speaker Kathy Kentish, Chief Executive, Citizens Advice for South Essex at our General Meeting April 2023.

Citizens Advice provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities.

Their aim is to:

  • Provide the advice people need for the problems they face.
  • Improve the policies that affect people’s lives.

Kathy’s talk and presentation focused on useful benefits that may be available to u3a members who are retirees, given the pressures due to increases in utility bills, food and other.   • Corringham, Fobbing and Homesteads Community forum

Community Forums are independent community groups that have been developed as part of the Community Governance programme in Thurrock. There are 13 active Community Forums covering a number of communities in Thurrock and one of the real advantages of having a forum is that local people can have a say on issues or decisions that affect their community.

If you live within the Corringham, Fobbing and Homesteads Community forum area then this is the meeting for you. The forum meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00. The current venue is New Hall, The Sorrells Corringham. They have a website with more details.CFH Forum
