Sleaford u3a - Events Archive - 2023
Friday, 26th January 2024: Almost 60 members attended the first Members Meeting of the year to hear about First Aid Techniques from a First Responder perspective, including the importance of immediate attention, use of a defribrillator, CPR and Abdominal Thrust techniques for various ages, and the bandaging of serious wounds - All important and serious skills, presented in an extremely entertaining and informative way.
Saturday, 2nd, 9th and 16th December 2023: Sleaford u3a held Pop-up Displays of Sleaford u3a Activities and the Benefits of Membership in a vacant Market Place shop unit at the Saturday Market in Sleaford, inviting members and prospective members to come along and chat with u3a volunteers about the benefits of u3a Membership and check out the range of activities, visits, meetings and social events that are planned for the wide range of Activity Groups, Visits and Social Events on offer.
Friday, 28th July 2023: Bernard Bale spoke about his lifelong recollections of events and personalities in an entertaining talk entitled "You Must Remember This" at the Members Meeting.
Friday, 26th May 2023: Nancy Appleyard provided an excellent and amusing interactive talk at the Members Meeting entitled "Its English Innit" and kept the audience fully engaged and interested throughout.
Friday, 31st March 2023: PC Justin Mekkaoui of Lincolnshire Police spoke at the Members Meeting about the importance of Cyber Protection and Prevention.

Sleaford u3a - Events Archive - 2020
20th Anniversary Celebration Events
Friday, 31st January 2020: Showcase event to celebrate our 20th Birthday. Attended by 200 people and opened by the Mayor of Sleaford it was a very successful afternoon.
Tuesday, 4th February 2020: Buffet with our founders to celebrate the 20th anniversary date of our affiliation to the Third Age Trust. It was fascinating to hear how Sleaford U3A has grown from a handful of enthusiastic folk to the 400+ membership of today.

20th Anniversary Celebration Events
November 2019: We commenced our celebrations in the winter of 2019 by making and displaying a Christmas Tree adorned with decorations representing our interest groups, designed and created by the various group members.
