Local History
The History Group is for anyone interested in the history of Skegness and the surrounding areas and in history generally. We meet on the first Wednesday in the month at 2pm in Skegness Library. This is usually in the basement which can be accessed by a lift.
Topics covered recently include Shows and Circuses, Bomber Command, Life in the Swinging Sixties, Tennyson Connections, Skegness Trades, Place Names, Dialect, Customs and Myths.
The library put out lots of material relevant to the topic we are doing and the emphasis is on the members joining in with their own experiences.
Wednesday 6th July - subject will be Deserted villages in Lincolnshire.
