E-mail the group coordinator using the contacts page for more information. Costs. 30p for drinks.

The Group started in 2009, mainly as a Beginners’ Group, with two of us with ‘O’ Level plus. Over the years a number of other people joined with a reasonable grounding in German and the group continued as a mixed ability group. All the beginners have since dropped out and we are now a small, but fairly homogenous, group.

We watch a film in German with German sub-titles for about half an hour, currently Das Hundehotel – a silly American film! After that, each member of the group prepares a short item for discussion. If there is time we then read a passage from a newspaper or a book. One of the newspapers we read is the Gandersheimer Kreisblatt: incredibly our twin town Bad Gandersheim, with a population of 10000, produces a daily morning newspaper, accessible online.

We meet every Wednesday afternoon from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at Jim's house, except when Jim is away.
New members with some knowledge of German will be very welcome.
