German
German meets at 10:30 to 12:00 on Thursdays at the Convenor's house.
We have started, “Wei Man Deutscher wird” (“How to be a German”) by Adam Fletcher. This is a challenging but hilarious collection of 50 steps explaining the peculiarities of living in Germany. Luckily it is accompanied by an English translation.
The group is not a “class” – it is about having a bit of fun in German and learning something along the way. I’m reluctant to refer to it as a conversation group as that might conjure up a spurious expectation of fluency. In its present form it is unsuitable for absolute beginners.
