AGM
The 2018 AGM will be held on 4th September 2018 at 10:30 in the Corran Halls.

Talks at Monthly Meetings
Monthly Meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30, except for December when we have our Christmas Lunch. Meetings are in the Studio Theatre, Corran Halls.

Talks are given at most monthly meetings by both members and invited Speakers. All start after announcements at the meeting, at or before 11:30 and end by 12:30.

Alison Rennie organises the talks presented at monthly meetings. It you want to offer a talk by yourself or a friend or if you have any suggestions please contact Alison through our Contact Page.
A programme of talks is being organised for 2017-18. It is almost complete and will be announced soon. The first speaker in February 2018 will be:
Lewis Pate, Environmental Projects Officer, Nevis Partnership. Lewis will take us to new heights and look at the various challenges the Partnership overcomes.
March 2018 will be:
Bill Leach from the Oban War and Peace museum. WW2 with its huge influx of British and foreign soldiers and civilians into Oban did much to shape the culture of the town and made a major contribution to the welcoming cosmopolitan town we have today.
April 2018 will be:
Julie Fairbrass talking about the work of GRAB, a charitable social enterprise providing activities relating to recycling, litter and re-use in Argyll and Bute.
May 2018 talk will be:
A talk by Liam Griffin on Kilbride, A past too high to have no future. Liam will give a short history of Kilbride Kirk, Lerags and its environs.
June 2018 talk will be:
Toby Clark will be presenting John Muir - a background to the man, and a tour of his impact and relevance today.

Talks that we have enjoyed during the last year include:
February Lyn Tett (previously of Oban, some of you may remember her) gave a talk entitled ‘My work in Adult Education’.
March Mike Bullock, Chief Executive of the Northern Lighthouse Board will give a talk entitled "The Northern Lighthouse Board-More than Lighthouses" which promises to be very interesting.
April Lucy Clough will speak about Malawi.
May Christopher Fleet from the National Library of Scotland will give a talk on "Scotland - Mapping the Islands".
On 6th June 2017 Dr Sharon Webb MBE, the Curator of Kilmartin Museum will talk about the work at Kilmartin Museum.
