Tarporley and District U3A took part in the local Tarporley Carnival (with Rio as the theme) on Saturday 12th July. Tarporley & District U3A is not quite a year old and used the day to promote its U3A and raise money for the Tarporley Community Centre, where its members meet. It was a lovely sunny day and the merry band of helpers had a lot of fun and made £280 in a Tombola, with all the prizes donated by members. The newly elected chairman Bill Harrison and his wife Lin cross-dressed for the parade (and for the rest of the afternoon on the stall). Bill won the best individual costume prize.
