Meet at 10.30 a.m., usually on 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. Walks for November to January are at the link to the right.

Walks vary between 2.5 - 6 miles. Reasonably local where possible, bus or train connections for meeting venue. All members walk at their own risk.

Regret no dogs.

We have vacancies for new members and for a leader, job-share, for longer walks.

See Links on the right of page for PHOTOGRAPHS OF WALKS and CURRENT PROGRAMME

(For lifts – a contribution to the car driver of £1 per head for local journeys and a little more for longer journeys would be very much appreciated.)

If you wish to join any walks, please book in by sending an e-mail to Heather Stone or Marion Wood via the blue bird with your name and a telephone contact number.

Update 5th March from Janice Roberts, Interest Group co-ordinator

I joined the Walking Group for a lovely walk from Adur Memorial Recreation Ground on Monday 28th February.

Marion Wood was our group leader, and she provided detailed information of where we were walking and areas of interest to look out for - see above.

We all walked at different speeds, chatting to each other and getting to know people better. Those in front waited for those behind before we crossed the Toll Bridge. I remember crossing the bridge and my dad having to pay a toll. Workmen are replacing some of the wood, but they are only doing a small area at a time.

We walked along to the new pumping station and talked about how the process works; then suddenly there was a loud gushing of water and when we turned to look the water was being pumped from the pumping station back into the river. It was good to see it working; the water comes out at such a speed.

We then made our way along the path passing the Shoreham Walking Group coming the other way.

We then went for coffee at the Hummingbird Restaurant at the airport. We all sat and ordered drinks, cakes and more chatting.

Real lovely friendly group to be spending the morning with. Thank you all for letting me join you, thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Ts and Cs

It is the responsibility of all members to decide for themselves whether they feel safe and comfortable to undertake these walks, which are at their own risk. Members should wear suitable clothes and shoes for walking. As many venues now still ask you to wear a mask, please bring a face mask and hand sanitiser. We ask that members stay alert to others' preferences for social distancing during the walks.

If members (or someone in their household) exhibit any Covid-19 symptoms on the day of the walks, they must not undertake the walks and should follow Government guidance.

If a walk is cancelled, Heather or Marion will contact by email those booked on. If you decide not to undertake any walks, then please let Heather or Marion know.
