PETANQUE – A sport which doesn’t require running, jumping or much athleticism. It improves hand/eye coordination, problem solving, teamwork and tolerance; win as a team, lose as a team. It can become highly addictive and is fun to play!
Meet alternate Fridays, 1.30 p.m., South Downs (Lancing) Leisure Centre, Manor Road, Lancing, BN15 0PH.
- Sessions held all year, contact numbers held in case of inclement weather and emergency.
- Health and safety risk assessment in place.
- Up to 60 players (starter equipment for 9 people, regular attendees encouraged to purchase their own equipment).
- Disabled/wheelchair access.
- Peer group support/instruction.
- Coaching available.
£1 per session to play.
Some of the hardy members of the Petanque Group met for the Christmas Mince Pie Melee on Friday prior to the January break and despite the bitter weather enjoyed some close fought games. See picture opposite.
Play resumes on 27th January when I hope to welcome present members back and new members starting.
