If you are new to the U3A, welcome to our web pages. If you are an existing member, these pages will allow you to keep up to date with the latest news and developments regarding your local U3A group. In ten years we have grown to a membership of over 300 and become a thriving organisation, offering learning opportunities in the local community.
U3A stands for the University of the Third Age, a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment, providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment.
A U3A thrives because ALL ITS MEMBERS are willing to pull their weight and put in as much as they get out.
“By the members, for the members” is the U3A Movement’s mantra. A U3A does not provide services for its members – members provide them for each other.
Our independent Interest Groups are run by members who offer to share their knowledge and skills. From ART to WALKING, SCRABBLE to LOCAL HISTORY, there is something for everyone and new members are warmly welcomed.
Qualifications are not gained, but the groups offer a tremendous opportunity to 'try something new' and learn about a whole range of subjects and interests.
