If you’re no longer in full time work or raising a family, this is what we call your third age. With more time available this is your chance to embrace new challenges. The u3a gives you opportunities to develop your interests, make new friends and have fun.
There are over 1000 u3a groups across in the UK and members are making the most of life by continuing their creative, educational or social interests in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere.
Introduction to the u3a
Click the link on the right of this screen for background on the u3a.
The Isle of Man u3a was launched on 28 June 2012 and our membership is growing as more people become aware of the benefits of membership. Although all U3As are autonomous we are part of the U3A North West Region. You can view the regional website by clicking on the link at the top right of this page.
For details of how to join and the interest groups we are currently offering (and how to volunteer to co-ordinate your own group) click the Membership and Group tabs at the top of the screen.
St. John's Mill (SJM) and the u3a
St. John's Mill has been the focal point for u3a (Isle of Man)'s activities since its inception. Members are made very welcome and they greatly appreciate the Mill and its surroundings. Read more in SJM and the u3a and visit SJM Website
Membership Fees 2021/22
We have been able to keep the annual fee at £15 for the year to 31st March 2022. This fee entitles members to join as many groups as they wish without any further payment (other than contributions towards refreshments or hall rentals).
