Qigong
Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice that combines gentle movement, controlled breathing and meditation. It has links to Tai Chi but Qigong is practiced primarily for health benefits as a support for wellbeing with less emphasis on the internal martial art aspect. Qigong aims to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and focus as well as reducing stress and practicing relaxation.
The class includes gentle warm up exercises and learning the individual movements over time. It is always practised with compassion and kindness. No special equipment is required, just water and loose comfortable clothing and soft flexible shoes or trainers. This group takes place in a room to the rear of the United Reformed Church so a small contribution to the cost is required from participants.
