An image of St Cuthbert's Billingham, part of the original Hartness Lordship dating from the mid 10th Century, when the boundaries of Hartness appear to be from Eden (marked by the Deserted Medieval village of Horden) in the North of the Lordship to Billingham in the South, The land granted was known to be granted to Regenwald, a Danish invader, in 923 A.D.
