Scottish Heritage
Group Leader: Doreen Somerville and Dee Ramsay
Scottish Heritage normally meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at a group member's house for Talks and otherwise at the visit venue at 2pm unless advised.
This is a member-led group with each member or members committing to arrange one of the monthly meetings or visits. All members commit to attending the majority of meetings to ensure good participation and support of each other.
The year's programme is made up of varied topics relating to our Scottish Heritage including - architecture, legend, social, commercial and cultural history as well as any other topics which reflect Scotland's past, present and future.
Examples of last year's visits are East Neuk Salt Company, museums in Dunfermline and St Andrews, the Georgian House in Edinburgh and the Tenement House in Glasgow. We had talks on the Covenanters, Windmills - Watermills and Green Energy and the "Ane Satyre of the Thrie Estaitis" by David Lyndsay. All have been followed by refreshments at local cafés or at the courtesy of our splendid host. See the photographs taken at a couple of events.
The group has a capacity of 15 members. There may be a few places this year. So please contact the group leader for more information or to be put on our waiting list on a first come basis.
