Photo Competition 2022 - 1: Winners
EALING U3A PHOTO COMPETITION 2022 - 13th October 2022
WINNING ENTRIES
JUDGE: Michael Lurie is a Photographer and member of Ealing u3a. He has previously been involved with Pinner Camera Club and now judges competitions for other camera clubs.
This year, Michael judged 107 entries from 18 members across 5 categories: Monochrome, Making Tracks, Macro, Waterways and My Best Picture.
Michael remarked that the standard of the entries was greatly improved since last year, whilst also commenting upon the increasing use of software editing with photo apps. Nevertheless, he had to make some very tough decisions, in each of the main categories. Only one prize was awarded in the My Best Picture category owing to insufficient entries.
As in previous years, it is important to state that the judging was carried out “blind”, i.e. the names of the photographers were hidden so that the judge was not able to see who had submitted the entries until after each prize winner was announced.
