Cranleigh & District u3a Members have exclusive use of our Beacon Members Portal.

Here Members can see full details of all our Groups and can join many of our Groups online.

Members can see a full calendar of all Group Meetings and Events, which can be narrowed down to a calendar of meetings just for the Groups they have, joined.

Members can also check their profile and amend/update the details we hold for them.

Most importantly members can renew their annual membership online. This option does not appear all year round. It becomes visible when we open up the process for membership renewals in early/mid July.

Then Members can renew their membership online by clicking on the link to our Beacon Members Portal and follow the instructions on screen. We use PayPal to process payments but Members do not need to have a PayPal account, as all major debit or credit cards will be accepted.

{INSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE RENEWAL OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP}
Renewing your membership online is the quickest and easiest method and avoids the expense of envelopes and stamps, please use it if at all possible.

Just follow these easy steps:

1. Click on the ‘Beacon Members Portal” link.

2. A screen will appear where you will be asked to confirm your identity. Please enter the details exactly as they appear in the renewal invitation sent to you. If the details you enter differ from those in the letter the screen will clear and you will not be able to progress. Common problems include not being aware information entered is case sensitive, using a name you are known by instead of the name you used when joining and allowing autofill of your details which can result in unseen spaces.

3. When you have filled In your details press Confirm Identity

4. This will take you to a new screen where you should click on Renew Your Membership

5. You will then be taken to the Payment screen which shows the amount due for your renewal and a Gift Aid statement. If you are a UK taxpayer and you would like Cranleigh u3a to claim or continue to claim Gift Aid on your subscription tick the Gift Aid box. If not make sure the box is not ticked. Click on Make Payment.

6. Please note - if you share an address with another member the payment screen will show the amount due to renew both memberships. If you do not wish to pay for both members please untick the box which says untick if you don’t wish to renew for …… If you untick here the screen will update to show the total due for you._

7. The next screen is the PayPal screen. You do not need to have a PayPal account.

8. If you DO NOT have a PayPal account go to the link at the bottom of the screen Pay with Debit or Credit Card

9. This takes you to another PayPal screen where you must enter your personal details and debit or credit card details. Once you have done this click Pay Now at the bottom of the screen.

10. After the transaction has been successfully completed your will see a confirmation on the screen.

11. You will receive an email from PayPal confirming the transaction.

12. You will also receive an email from Beacon confirming your renewal with your new membership card. You should not need to print your new membership card, as most Group Leaders will be using Beacon and so will know you are a u3a member. You will only need to print your membership card it a Group Leader asks to see a copy and you are not able to show it on your phone.

13. If you appear not to have received the emails mentioned in 11 and 12 please check your Spam folder.
