Wine appreciation
The group is aimed at both beginners and enthusiasts, people who are curious about how vine growing, wine making and the myriad factors – grape varieties, climate, marketing etc – that contribute to the finished wine.
Normally, the leader will introduce a topic with handout, which will then be illustrated practically with a tutored tasting of four wines – using the senses of sight, smell, taste, mouth-feel and overall impression to judge the quality of the wine and its value for money.
Each summer we visit a local vineyard to meet the winemaker and sample their wines!
