Sidmouth

Welcome

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
OUR U3A IS FUNCTIONING, ALBEIT VERY RESTRICTIVELY. OUR MEMBERSHIP IS STILL OPEN, OUR NEWSLETTER IS BEING SUPPLEMENTED WITH MONTHLY BULLETINS AND SEVERAL GROUPS ARE MEETING ONLINE, WHILST OTHERS ARE THINKING OF NEW WAYS TO KEEP THEIR GROUPS ACTIVE. .

Sidmouth U3A is an independently managed, self-governing charity with its own constitution, working within the guiding principles of the worldwide U3A movement which was set up to help those no longer in full-time employment to continue to learn and socialise. Over the last decade Sidmouth U3A has flourished and grown year after year and we now have well over 400 members.

The lifeblood of any U3A are the interest groups. We currently have 60 very diverse groups with activities and learning skills to suit everyone, mainly meeting once a month in private houses or local halls.

We also offer social activities, which include regular concert outings, visits to stately homes, theatre trips, luncheons and a variety of specialist and active pursuits.

The hub of our U3A takes place at our regular monthly meetings at a large local hall, usually with a speaker. These meetings are a good way for members to get to know one another as well as providing an opportunity to meet members of the committee and to find out what is going on.

To join our U3A, please contact our Membership Secretary via the Membership Enquiry Section on this website.
