Feb meet 2023
Februarys' meeting is on Thursday 16th Feb 2-4pm in the Chapter House.
The original aim was to feature Bizet, Brahms and Beethoven.
The works of Beethoven has shown me to be well able to fill the Feb session. If there are no objection I will pursue this interest.

Januarys meeting majored on J.S.Bach and family but we started off with a suggestion from Philip of a piece of music from the Italian composer Albinoni (1671-1751).
J S Bach 1685-1750 was one of a long line of composers his sons continued their interest in music notably Johann Christian Bach who helped Mozart during a time in London.
Johan Sebastian Bach produced over 1000 pieces of music many of which were less than 5 minutes long and influenced by his employment in the church and the choir. His more recognised pieces are St Matthews passion, Ave Maria, Jesu Joy of mans Desire, Brandenburg Concertos
and Air on the G string.
He had 20 children by his two wives ,Maria Barbara Bach, his second cousin and after 14 years when she died married a gifted soprano Anna Magdalena Wichen.
Despite his gifted musical achievements he died in poverty after a failed cataract operation.
