Singing for Fun
Meet on Mondays every 2 weeks from 10:30am - 12:00 noon at the United Reform Church Hall, Blandford
Singing for Fun is a group of approximately 20 singers who meet every two weeks. The group leader is Rachel Cook, a retired professional singer whose background was mainly in opera.
The group is of mixed ability with some members experienced in the art of choral singing, while others have hardly sung since they were at school! However, people tend to help each other and the aim is to enjoy the singing and have fun. We have a 15 minute coffee / tea break at around 11.15
The sessions always begin with breathing and vocal exercises with emphasis on breath control.
The repertoire is wide ranging and we sing in rounds, canons, 4 parts or together in unison - from medieval to contemporary or classical.
There is a small charge to cover costs.
