About Biddulph U3A

If you have come across the U3A in other places, or heard about it from people in other areas, then you will find that Biddulph U3A is different from many others. We do not have monthly meetings in the Community Hall. We do not have guest speakers and slideshows and discussion groups. We aim to do what the Adult Education organisation used to do when it had the funding. They used to put on classes in craft, sporting, artistic and cultural activities.
Now we do it, by ourselves and for ourselves- the Biddulph way!
We don't have passive meetings, we do activities, some physical, some creative, some educational, but all sociable and friendly.
We are a growing organisation, now approaching six hundred members, and we offer, so far, thirty-five activity groups.

If you click on the "Groups" button at the top of the page, you will see a list of all the activities that we currently offer, but this is only work in progress, there are new people and new ideas coming along all the time. If there is something you would like to see included then let us know- there may be other people looking for the same thing, and we can put you in touch. At the very least, we could refer you to one of our neighbouring U3As if they offer what you are looking for.

  • You are welcome to attend a meeting to learn more.

How to find us
If there is something that you think you could lead a group for, then let us know even sooner. The "Contact" button links to an easy way of getting in touch with one or all of the committee members. The "Leaders Page" will give you a quick insight into what a leader has to do from the admin point of view.
