House & Garden Visits 2016

The year began with a planning meeting on March 16 in the Community Room at Waitrose. This was followed by a ‘welcome’ lunch at Cyan Restaurant in Milngavie on March 18. Our first visit was to the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, via through train from Milngavie, followed by shared taxis to the Garden. All the other visits have been by coach (with 20-25 group members) and have included a set lunch and a tour of the house and/or garden. A particularly memorable outing was to Dumfries House where we enjoyed morning coffee, followed by a tour of the House and then lunch in the library surrounded by the Duke of Rothesay’s artwork. The weather was very kind to us on most trips, and a little rain at Benmore failed to dampen our enthusiasm for the Garden!
