CURRENT GROUPS

A list of current groups and meeting schedule is provided below. Further information can be found by clicking on the Group name taking you to the Group page.

Further details concerning membership, current status or specific meetings can be obtained from the Group Convenor by clicking on the message bird on that page and you are requested to contact the Convenor before attending for the first time.

Information about recently launched and proposed new groups can be found on the New Groups page and an alternative is to start your own Group; with plenty of support available for this and information on the Starting a Group page.

NEW OR EXTRA GROUPS FOR 2024

Following the item in the January Newsletter, new groups are starting in Art Appreciation, Crime Fiction, Ballroom Dancing, Short Stories, History Book, Birdwatching, Gardening and Crafting (now FULL, please express interest on the Crafting 2 page). You can visit their webpages by following the link from the Table below. If there is a Message Bird on the page you can enquire about joining. If there is no Message Bird, there will be soon.

Other “New Ideas” Groups: Most are coming together nicely, apart from Indoor Bowling, where the lack of a suitable venue has put paid to the idea, for now (a venue has been suggested which might be suitable for next winter). Jazz Appreciation has only 2 interested so far (if you are interested, please register that interest via Message Bird on this page). Maths and Study Groups have combined to investigate short courses which might be offered to members. Table Tennis and Wine Appreciation have both gained good support and are likely to launch after their start up meetings. Members on Their Own is almost ready to go and will be available to take new members soon.

Most of the groups launched recently, have filled up very quickly. If there is a new group that you would like to join check the table below. If the new group is ready or almost ready to go it will be listed with a link to its webpage. As soon as there is a Message Bird on that page you can ask to join. The picture is rapidly changing, so please check webpages regularly to avoid missing out.
