About us

So, what is U3A? - The University of the Third Age

The first age is Childhood

The second age is Responsibilities

THEN THE THIRD AGE IS FREEDOM!

We are one of over a 1000 U3As spread across the UK, each affiliated to the Third Age Trust. In brief, the U3A was formed for the benefit of retired & semi-retired people who wish to learn and keep active. Members share their knowledge, experience and participate in a wide range of educational, social and leisure activities.

Join us, make new friends and share teaching/ learning experiences. No qualifications are required. You can learn new skills and exercise for sheer enjoyment and fun.

Please browse our Groups and Events pages, we are sure you will find something of interest. If not and you have any ideas for new activities we would like to hear from you. The U3A draws on the wealth of knowledge and experience of its members. We would be particularly pleased to hear from anyone willing to lead a group. Teaching experience is definitely not necessary.

We look forward to hearing from you - please click the 'Contact' link above.

Members receive a quarterly newsletter either by email or a hard-copy by post. Click the side 'Link' to view previous newsletters.
