Outings

Wheathampstead U3A regularly arranges outings to a variety of destinations. These include shows, theatres and other places of interest.

  • All members of Wheathampstead U3A are very welcome to join us on any of our outings.
  • Transport is provided from Wheathampstead.
  • The price of each outing includes the cost of transport and usually includes the cost of tickets or entrance fees.
  • This is a great way to have a fun day out with friends from the U3A or to make new friends during the day.

HOW YOU CAN APPLY
You can send a message to the Outings team by clicking on the eagle in the panel on the right. Just let us know which outing(s) you are interested in.

Alternatively, come to the Outings table which is at the back of the Memorial Hall during the U3A monthly meetings.

Greenwich day visit - London borough on the banks of the River Thames. Known for its maritime history, it's home to the Cutty Sark, a restored 19th-century ship, the huge National Maritime Museum, and the classical buildings of the Old Royal Naval College. The modern O2 arena sits on a peninsula to the north. Overlooking peaceful Greenwich Park, the Royal Observatory is the site of the Greenwich meridian line.

Details of the outing:

  • Leave Wheathampstead Memorial Hall at 09.30
  • Tea or Coffee on arrival at The Maritime Museum
  • Guided tour of the museum is available, this is an additional cost of £8.50 per person
  • Time for lunch. There are plenty of places for lunch, or take a picnic to have in the sunshine!
  • Visit the Cutty Sark
  • Coach will drive everyone up the hill to the Observatory
  • Guided tour of the Observatory is available, this is an additional cost of £8.50 per person
  • Time to take in the views, visit the shop
  • Return home at 16.30
