2023-03 Born Free Foundation
Westbury & District u3a had an interesting talk on 14 March 2023, given by Dawn Lawrence, about The Born Free Foundation (remember Elsa the lion?) Founded by Virginia McKenna, Will Travers, and Bill Travers, the Foundation works tirelessly to stop the exploitation and suffering of individual animals living in captivity or in the wild. From the start, they have campaigned for a future where animals and people can co-exist and where threatened and endangered species are protected for generations to come, and kept in the wild as opposed to zoos, etc.
