March 2016 - Much Wenlock

This was a circular route combining two routes around Much Wenlock, which can be found on the Much Wenlock website, and was about 5 miles in length.

After the preceding week's rain we were lucky with the weather for our March walk. It was a fine sunny day, perfect for walking.

We started from the town square and followed the route of the Brookes Walk, which was an easy walk past the Priory and into fields and woodland. We left the Brookes Walk route by the William Brookes school, passing the Windmill and then crossing the road to follow the Homer Head Walk.

This part of the walk had some steadily climbing tracks, but the reward was the views across to the Wrekin and, later, on the downward tracks across to the town of Much Wenlock.

We finished our walk back in Much Wenlock at lunchtime, and enjoyed a very nice light lunch in the George & Dragon.
