Committee Members and helpers
Jean LeBreuilly, Chair
I moved to the area 17 years ago and am a founder member of Shipston u3a. I served on the committee as interest groups’ co-ordinator and then as joint chair and chair, stepping down in 2019 when I reached my six-year limit of service. I am currently a member of the Greek and Latin (Improvers) groups. I have also been a member of the Craft Group, the Computer Group and the Wine Appreciation Group.
Brenda Boyle, Vice-Chair, Membership Secretary
I moved from Herefordshire to Blackwell in 2021 and joined U3A shortly afterwards.
I am currently part of the Book Group and intend to join other interest groups in the next few months. I joined the committee in December 2021 and am now the Membership Secretary.
I hope to meet many of the members in the forthcoming year.
John Dunlop, Treasurer
I joined the Shipston u3a 3 years ago mainly to enjoy playing bridge, and became Treasurer in the Spring of 2020. I am also Treasurer of two arts organisations based in London but enjoy the opportunity to offer my services more locally. We moved to Brailes in 2005 and love the friendliness of Shipston and the landscape of the North Cotswolds.

John Keayes, Secretary
I am a retired civil engineer. My wife and I moved to Tysoe in November 2020 and have taken part in Shipston’s u3a's wine appreciation, walking, history, and book groups. I was a member of a West Sussex Probus Club for 8 years, where I held the roles of speaker organiser; then club secretary; and set up and managed the club’s website.

Jenny Shepperd, Interest Groups Coordinator
I joined Shipston on Stour Area u3a in 2018 when I moved to the area from Dorset and settled in Brailes. I joined the committee in 2021 and act as Interest Groups Co-ordinator. I have been a member of walking groups throughout my time as a member.

Lynne Richardson, Assistant Interest Groups Coordinator
I took over the role of Interest Groups Coordinator from the original role holder around 4 years ago, joining the u3a a year before, and am currently the Assistant Interest Groups Coordinator. I am a member of a few interest groups getting much pleasure from the opportunities u3a offers us. I also volunteer for a national charity and a number of years ago was on Shipston Town Council.
Helen Pendery, Assistant Treasurer, Beacon Administrator
I joined in 2013, became Committee member in April 2017, and Assistant Treasurer from 2019. Group leader for: Family History, Pilates and assistant for the Computer Group.
Helen lives in Brailes and enjoys walking and art.

Jackie Finlay, Update Editor, Publicity Coordinator
I have lived in Shipston for ten years and am a founder member of our u3a, serving on the Executive Committee as Membership Secretary for 7 years. I am leader of the Playreading Group and a member of the Mindfulness and Current Affairs groups. I took over as editor of UPDATE in June 2021.

Richard Taylor, Monthly Meeting Coordinator, Health & safety Officer
I was born and bred in Shipston. After completing an apprenticeship in motor engineering I spent many years at our garage in the Town. I was a Town Councillor for 28 years, and was lucky enough to be the Town Mayor four times. I am a Trustee of the Townsend Hall, I have been a member of U3A for approximately 3 years, and am a member of the I.T. Computer group.
Geoff Olsson, Website Administrator
I was one of the founder members of our u3a and have served as Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary until stepping down when I reached my 6 year limit of service. I am currently the Website Administrator though not serving on the Committee. I run the Wine Appreciation group.

Moving to Shipston ten years ago I was one of the founder members of our u3a.
I served as Speakers Secretary before stepping down from the Committee when I reached my 6 year limit of service. Last year I took on Speakers Secretary again but have not joined the Committee. I also run the Drawing and Painting group. I belong to Current Affairs and Wine Appreciation.
