Groups

Interest groups are formed by our U3A members for the members. Most interest groups are relatively small. Agreement of all interested parties is sought on the venue, time and day of meeting. Many of the groups elect to meet in each other's houses, where this is not viable, such as Tai Chi, a room will be booked. Members of that group will be asked for a small contribution to the cost.

The aim of all interest groups is to share knowledge, expertise and have fun.

It may be just the opportunity you have been waiting for, to try out something new within a friendly supportive group.

You may wish to start up a new interest group.

All groups have a facilitator who is the link with the groups co ordinator . There is a facilitators pack to support you, however there is always someone to help that's only a phone call or email away!

Our Interest Group Coordinator will be only too pleased to talk to you and support you in the initial stages of creating a new group. (Click on the contact tab and send your query to the Group Co-ordinator)

Most of our interest groups have now resumed. As part of the meeting planning process, the Interest Group Facilitator is required to complete a General Outdoor Activity Risk Assessment. This should be circulated to interest group members and it contains a personal risk assessment for these members to complete and keep. Any Facilitator planning an outdoor meeting will supply his or her members with all the advance information needed.
