General Monthly Meetings are held on 2nd Tuesday of the month
Car Parking at Olton Friary When entering the car park please only enter the one with the raised barrier, there are plenty of parking spaces to the rear so please continue to the end. If you have things to carry please take them into the hall and then re-park your car. The parking at the front is reserved for parents of children in nearby schools. Thank you for your co-operation
1:30 -3:30 Doors open at 1.15 Volunteers are always welcome to set out chairs prior to the opening time.

We have a varied programme of visiting guest speakers. The meetings are aimed at bringing all members together, updating on events and activities. Visitors are more than welcome to attend two times before making the decision to join or not to join.

Our new Committee held its first Committee meeting using zoom on 28th May! Quite a few Committee members managed to get on to the site and join the meeting and the other members will hopefully be up and running very soon. The main aim of the meeting was to greet each other and try our hand at using this facility. However the one topic we did want to discuss was the best way we could and still can support every member of our U3A.
Every Committee member contributed as we looked for good ideas to build upon the newsletters, WhatsApp meetings, zoom meetings, quizzes, social media and telephone contact being led primarily by our brilliant interest group facilitators. We must also give a huge thank you to Lynda for the monthly newsletter. I know she is very modest about it but there is a huge amount of work going into producing every month’s main newsletter. Also Peter and Mary are keeping our web site up to date at this very difficult time. However every individual member has a part to play in keeping our U3A a positive organisation supporting “Learn, Laugh and Live” and if you have items to contribute or an idea for something new which we are not currently doing please let John, Carol, or myself know about it.
I am keeping an eye on the monthly updates from National Office to secretaries to see if any other U3A is doing something we are not.
