Archery / Air Rifle Shooting is a new group set up in August 2023, by Richard Charlesworth a qualified archery coach and member of Trackside Archery Club in North Kesley Moor (near Brigg). Trackside is an indoor club with both archery ranges and air rifle ranges. See https://www.tracksidearcheryandshootingclub.co.uk
u3a members who wish to join the group will need to go through an initial safety/beginners session taken by Richard at their first meeting. For this reason it will only be possible to start the group with 4 members. Once members have been "inducted" the group could be expanded to a maximum of 8 people for safety reasons. If there is sufficient interest it may be possible to have two group meetings a month with different attendees.
The meetings will be held on the second Thursday of the month from 11am - 1pm.
Trackside is a non-profit making club and fees are being kept as low as possible. Richard has negotiated a flat fee of £12 per session, which includes a range fees, a non-Trackside-member fee and equipment hire (bow, arrows and safety equipment).
u3a members who wish to use the air rifle ranges can do so, possibly in addition to the members doing archery (at the same time). Speak to Richard about that.
