u3a– WHAT IS IT? WHAT DOES IT DO
Learn, laugh and live with Newquay u3a
Founded in 1982, u3a is a UK-wide movement of locally-run interest groups that provide a wide range of opportunities to come together to learn for fun. Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together. There are 1,057 u3as with over 450,000 members; membership costs less than £20 on average per year and is open to everyone who is no longer in full-time work. Members are encouraged to contribute by offering their own skills and knowledge to fellow members, giving life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities.
Newquay u3a's current annual subscription is £20, which includes the national subscription. Our group leaders come from within our members, so that costs are kept to a minimum.
Monthly Meeting
The monthly general meeting takes place on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Lane Theatre. Chat over a tea/coffee from 10.15am - 10.45am before the meeting at 11am, including a guest speaker, entertainment, or social. Our current membership is over 200, and between 70-100 attend the monthly meeting on a regular basis.
