Useful Information for Group Leaders

New Group Leaders will find useful information about running a group in the Group Leaders Pack.

To help ensure the safety and wellbeing of group members, the Group Leader should undertake a risk assessment following the guidelines in Support for u3as on the national u3a website - using the guidelines appropriate to their type of meeting (at homes, in venues, outdoors, etc.). Walking groups should instead follow the guidelines in the Ramblers' Group walks Risk Assessment. If you are meeting in a venue, this is a model Risk Assessment for the Friends Meeting House in Colmore Road, which you may find useful. See also National Covid-19 Guidance extracted from the national u3a website.

Information on available venues and the cost of hiring them can be found in Venues list and costs. For social events where transport is required, Transport Hire Costs may be useful.

There are a number of forms for downloading which you may find helpful:
AVC Form relating to Voluntary Contributions for Hired Venues,
Members Contact Details,
Waiting List for Interest Groups and
Register for Interest Group.

If you are sharing your group with a third party organisation, the Combined Meetings Position Statement describes how arrangements will operate.
