Moseley & Kings Heath

Welcome

Welcome to Moseley Kings Heath & District u3a

We are a large u3a with more than 500 members serving Moseley, Kings Heath and surrounding areas in the south of Birmingham. We have more then 50 different interest groups covering a wide range of subjects and activities and organise monthly talks on a variety of topics. Our membership subscription is kept as low as possible but is set at a level which enables us to subsidise groups' venue charges.

We are a member of the u3a South Birmingham Network along with Kings Norton u3a and Harborne & Edgbaston u3a, which allows our members to join groups in the other u3as where they have advertised vacancies, and vice versa.

Moseley Kings Heath & District u3a is an independent charity (charity number 1155504) forming part of the national u3a movement.

What is the u3a?

The u3a enables retired and semi-retired people to come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward - the sheer joy of discovery! Members share their skills and life experiences - the learners teach and the teachers learn, and there is no distinction between them.

Many of our groups require no prior knowledge or expertise. If you are thinking of joining a group the group leader will explain whether that is the case.

We are always encouraging people to start new groups. This is straightforward and can be a shared responsibility, the team leader does not need to be the 'expert' and our Interest Group Coordinator is always pleased to offer help and advice.

Monthly coffee mornings

Drop in for coffee and a chat on the second Friday of the month from 10:30 to 12:00 at Fletcher’s Bar on York Road in Kings Heath. For more details and upcoming dates see the Events page.
This is an opportunity for existing members to socialise together and for new members (and prospective new members) to get to know us and find out what we have to offer.
