Our Poets & Poetry Group meets at 2:00pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

This is an informal group for all lovers of poetry, offering an opportunity for us to discuss our favorite poets, share our favorite poems and discover new ones. At each month’s meeting we collectively agree on a subject or theme for the following month; then, when we next meet, each member can contribute their choices by reading aloud the works they have found, and prompting group discussion. Also, at each meeting we investigate individual writers, or one particular poet, to find out more about their lives and inspirations, usually using audio recordings and documentary videos. Sometimes we look at particular groups of poets and movements, or poetic styles and forms. And of course, there is always the encouragement to have a go at writing your own verse.
