Cycling for pleasure
|Group Leader||Mike Sare|
The group has had good turnouts for Monday & Wednesday rides throughout. We have tried some different routes in cycling to Brockenhurst but by cycle paths through the forest. This proved quite good especially when we came to junctions where there were several post numbers but none indicated where the path went. The group had a little discussion and came up with the majority decision. The ride proved well organised in that at one gate we had a U3A member Dave Macdonald to open the gate for us. It was very welcoming to have a coffee stop at Bunny's in Brockenhurst, The return route was also via forest tracks. Other rides were to Eling where coffee was had at the Eling Tide Mill and a visit to the new cafe at Lepe and then to Joyce's Beach Hut for a good time and tea while enjoying the sun. It has been good that in the past we have had to cancel rides due to rain but our luck has changed as we have had no cancelled rides. Obviously the prayer mat has been in the right direction. Future rides planned are to Brockenhurst via Denny Lodge forest paths and to Shallowmead Garden Centre to enjoy recommended refreshments. Dates for rides are the 2nd Monday and the 4th Wednesday of each month. If you feel like joining an excellent group of people then please contact me, you would be made very welcome.
