Local Interest Groups

Local History

  • Acton History Group, part of the History of Acton website - the group meets monthly from September to March
  • Brentford and Chiswick Local History society aims to stimulate interest in the history of this area by original research and fieldwork, visits to places of interest, meetings and publications.
  • Ealing Civic Society website - this Society was established in 1967 and they are working in such areas as conservation, green spaces, heritage, planning, regeneration and transport to preserve and improve our borough.
  • Ealing Council Local History Centre is the archive of the London borough of Ealing. The focus is on making Ealing’s past more readily available and understandable to people in the present day.
  • Ealing National Trust association - organises a programme of events of interest to National Trust members living in the Ealing area.

Walking /Rambling

  • Ealing Outdoor Club – mostly walking and occasionally other activities such as cycling and kayaking.
  • Ealing Walks – part of the national Walking for Health Scheme which offering walks across the borough, walks are free and led by trained walk leaders.
  • West London Ramblers - based in Ealing and Hounslow with walks in a range of areas accessible by public transport from London. Walks are from four to 12 miles on most Saturdays, Sundays, and midweek with occasional social events and holidays.
  • Ramblers Association website, - national charity working to protect and expand the places where people love to walk and promote walking for health and pleasure.
