Risk assessments are needed for all u3a activities and it is each group leader's responsibility to do these. Some general advice from the u3a is contained in Risk Assessment FAQ. More specific help is contained in the check lists below.
Risk assessment check lists
The u3a has produced checklists to help group leaders to do risk assessments. Different ones are suited to different types of activity. You can view the most appropriate one from the list below. These are pdf files. You can download Word versions that you can edit from the links in the side panel.
Venue Based Activities This document is to help group leaders to assess risks to members attending meeting at venues such as the Community Centre
Home based activities This document is for activities at a member's home
Day trips This document is for trips that don't involve an overnight stay
Holiday travel This is for holidays and trips that last for more than one day
Walking groups This is for walk leaders
