Craft meeting 2022

November meeting
Today was spent crafting ornaments to be put on the u3a tree at the christmas tree event at Crediton church, many different ones were made and the photos to the side show the proud group and finished tree in the church.

September Meeting
At our September meeting we tried our hand at foil art. This proved to be more difficult than it looked resulting in some of us getting a little frustrated . But you never know till you try. For our October meeting we are going to visit Paint pots again.

August meeting
Our craft meeting held on the 3rd August was attended by 13 members. The Methodist minister had donated some old hymn books to us. So we recycled them into hedgehogs by paper folding.

July Meeting
At our July craft meeting we welcomed a new member then Jo taught us very patiently how to make flowers out of felt. These could be used to decorate a hat, made into a brooch or scrunchy, or be attached to wire to make a floral decoration. Janet then made a timely entrance to make tea for us all.

June meeting
As the June meeting was at the beginning of the Jubilee celebrations we felt we ought to do something with a Royal theme. So we painted coasters using stencils or rubber stamps which turned out to be more difficult than it looked. However thanks to some artistic people in the group some very presentable ones were achieved.

Mays meeting
For the May craft meeting we visited the studio of paint pots in the Creedy centre. We painted a variety of ceramics including jugs, vases, plates, lizards and dishes. We then left them to be fired in the kiln. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

April 6th
Bead Work.
At our last craft group meeting Jo , one of our members, showed us how to make cute people out of beads and attached to key rings. You may spot some around the town decorating several bags. Everyone were pleased with their efforts.

March 2nd
On Wednesday 2nd March 11 members of the craft group braved the rain to recycle tin cans into pencil holders or even mini Easter eggs. The next meeting will be on the 6th April when Jo will be helping us with some bead work.

feb 2nd
On the 2nd February 12 of us met for our craft meeting. We all tried our hands at decoupage which is,as someone said,is the posh word for sticking small bits of paper on something! We had a variety of animals to choose from and had some very colourful results. Our next meeting is on the 2nd March.

Jan 2022 meting

On Wednesday 5th January 11 of us attempted some silk painting. Everyone was so engrossed it was unusually quiet but normality was restored with our tea and biscuits. An enjoyable and creative afternoon.
