French for Returners
Group Leader: Yvonne Beaumont
The Group meets fortnightly on Thursdays at Yvonne’s house.
This group is for those who wish to improve their basic written and spoken French. We start off with a chat in French and then go on to read and translate articles from an interesting French magazine that reflects modern French life, which in turn triggers more conversation and even laughter – and sometimes a little grammar where relevant.
Members will have done O Level or its equivalent long ago but will find more remains in their head than they feared!
Yvonne is a modern languages graduate, has taught French to adults, and sees herself as a friendly facilitator not a teacher.
The Thursday group is currently full, with a waiting list, but a second group may start in March.
