Braintree Area u3a - Registered Charity No. 1196660
Welcome to The Braintree Area U3A (University of the Third Age). As with all other U3As we set out to provide a range of activities for those who are no longer in full-time employment. Braintree Area u3a is part of the u3a, a UK-wide movement of locally-run interest groups that provide a wide range of opportunities to come together to learn for fun. Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together. Click on any of our links above, or if you have a particular interest click on this Groups link and scroll down to see the range we offer.
General monthly meetings are usually held from 2.00pm to 4.00pm on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Bocking Arts Centre (unless otherwise stated). Guests and visitors are welcome to come along to the General Meetings (unless otherwise stated). Please sign the guest book that is just inside the door on the right as you come in. Doors open at 1.30 so please arrive in time to meet friends and find a seat before the announcements start at 2.00pm. The speaker usually starts at about 2.15pm. Please note: The next meeting will be held on 19th January 2022 at the Bocking Arts Centre. Please see Latest News for further details.
Finally England has moved to step 4 of their Lockdown Easing Road Map, which means that there is now no limit on how many people can meet indoors or outdoors. Some groups have already re-started, e.g. the Walking Groups, Scrabble and Digital Photography Group. Other groups are continuing to remain in contact via Zoom, Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger and by telephone. Some groups are now planning to restart their meetings. We will be updating members as group meetings restart.
