Responsibilities

  • Gathering and recording information about potential speakers from various sources including their personal details.
  • Contacting them and agreeing subject matter, dates, fees, equipment needs, etc.
  • In advance of a new year, submitting a proposed annual programme of events to the Committee for their approval.
  • Checking with speakers just before they are due to make their presentation, thanking them afterwards, ensuring they’ve received payment, etc.
  • Be aware of any safeguarding issues that may arise and follow through the appropriate channels as deemed necessary for resolution.

Commitment

  • 2hrs once a month to attend a committee meeting.
  • An average of 2 hours per month, but with an extra 8-10 hours once a year to put together the annual programme.

Skills Required

  • Basic computer literacy with internet access to send/receive emails and basic knowledge of MS Word to produce the Speaker Programme.
