Publicity Officer
Responsibilities
- Publishing details, in good time, about our forthcoming monthly meetings (and any other appropriate events) in the local press.
- Maintaining a stock of up-to-date publicity materials and distributing as required.
- Investigating opportunities to promote our activities in the local press and events.
- Linking up with the U3A National Office and other U3A’s as appropriate.
- Ensure that good, current publicity material is available on the website.
- Through these activities and working with the membership secretary, encourage recruitment of new members.
- Working with the Newsletter Editor and the Webmaster to facilitate awareness within our membership of the activities within our groups and those arranged by the Third Age Trust.
- Be aware of any safeguarding issues that may arise and follow through the appropriate channels as deemed necessary for resolution.
Commitment
- 2hrs once a month to attend a committee meeting.
- An average of 2 hours per month.
Skills Required
- Basic computer literacy with internet access to send/receive emails.
